@mlanger @Marrekoo Yeah, it stumped me as I was walking, but did some reading once I got home - https://www.barnacleparking.com/how-it-works/
I see a lot of potential for hacking and abuse here. I still think towing is more effective. When my car got towed in New York City it was a royal hassle to figure out where it was, take a cab there, and pay both the parking fine and the towing fee to get it back. You better believe I never illegally parked again in New York City.
(For the record, I was too close to a fire hydrant.)
@Marrekoo @kin I wasn’t blocking. I think you’re supposed to be 10 or 15 feet away and I was 5 or 10 feet away. In other words, 5 feet too close. I don’t think the curbs were painted red in those days — this was a LONG time ago. Definitely not blocking. I had a really small car and squeezed it in. But still didn’t really fit.
Run defroster for 15 minutes then use credit card to break suction cup's suction.
@CattleBaron Ha! Love it.
@kin I wonder if this + a steering wheel lock "might" be enough to prevent a Kia from being broken into and stolen. 🤔
@carpetbomberz Nope. Kias are meant to free range by design. ;-)
@kin How does it stick?
