Had my first viral moment on Mastodon last night. Gained a few followers. Images are Mastodon vs Twitter.
@kin weird thing is my server only federated with less than 400 of the boosts so you there is a whole side of the fediverse that my 40k users instance isn't aware of

@kin While I have not had anything close to a viral moment, and even though I have been on Twitter since 2009 and have 12K followers there, the algorithm seems to hate me. (The feeling is mutual, btw.) With my <100 Mastodon followers, I get a much bigger response to almost everything I post here than I do on Twitter. (Mostly thanks to hashtags as far as I can tell.) Anyway, it's nice to see you getting the reach you did with this one.
@kin the fact that your server is selfhosted makes this even crazier lol
