@kin in France the law requires bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc... To provide free access to their restrooms even to non customers. Even though not all of them respect it, it was always weird to me that it's not the case in North America. Of course that only works during their opening hours.
@kin lack of access to public restrooms is an affront to civilization.
