@kin I’ve been thinking seriously about doing this, and I’m curious to know how much bandwidth it takes to keep an instance for <5 users going. I keep promising myself I’ll simplify my digital life; I run backend services for a living, I have an overly complicated home network, cloud servers, etc.
I wouldn’t think about using an email address I don’t fully control. Mastodon gives me similar vibes; what happens if my server operator shuts down suddenly?
@jnoxon Yeah, I think deeply about these things, and work hard to keep things within my domain (control). I'll have to get back to you on the bandwidth it takes. My first instance is single user, but setting up multi-user for API Evangelist -- I'lll keep sharing my learnings as I go. It is an interesting journey.
